.srt to keep subtitles.
Create a link to allow guests to add content.
Add media from the web to your Plex server. Paste a link above: a single video, or a whole playlist.
Nothing in History yet.
A guest link lets someone send you video files from their own computer, with no account. What they send appears on your Home page marked Guest; nothing reaches Plex until you choose a library and press Go. Links expire, have limits, and can be turned off any time. (Where links point is set in Settings → Guests.)
These are your Plex server's movie and TV libraries. Tick the ones you want in the Library dropdown; it lists your most recently used first. Videos saved to a movie library are named Title (Year)/Title (Year).mp4. Saving to a TV library needs the show set up first, in the TV Shows tab.
Add the YouTube series you follow that are listed on TheTVDB. When you save a video from one of them to a TV library, yt-plex finds the matching episode by upload date (then title) and files it the way Plex expects:Show/Season 2026/Show - s2026e29 - Episode Title.mp4, with its .en.srt subtitles and .jpg thumbnail alongside. Videos from a listed show's channel are recognized automatically.
“Folder” is the show's folder inside your TV library, so you can match a folder that already exists. To find a show, paste its TheTVDB link or search by name. The search uses your Sonarr if it's connected (the same results Sonarr would give you), or TheTVDB's public data otherwise.

yt-plex talks to these apps over your network. Each needs an address (where the app is) and a key (permission to use it). Keys are not passwords: they're long codes each app generates for other software. Everything here is stored only on this server.
http://192.168.1.50:32400. Use the address as seen from the machine yt-plex runs on; if both are on the same computer, http://127.0.0.1:32400 works.
X-Plex-Token=. Plex's guidehttp://192.168.1.50:7878. If Radarr and yt-plex both run in Docker on the same network, the container name works too: http://radarr:7878. Include any URL base you've set in Radarr (e.g. http://192.168.1.50:7878/radarr).
http://192.168.1.50:8989. If Sonarr and yt-plex both run in Docker on the same network, the container name works too: http://sonarr:8989. Include any URL base you've set in Sonarr (e.g. http://192.168.1.50:8989/sonarr).
Some videos only play for a signed-in account. yt-plex never needs your password: it uses a cookies file exported from a browser where you're signed in to YouTube. It's used only when YouTube refuses a video without it, then yt-plex retries automatically. A cookies file is what a website stores in your browser to remember that you're signed in. Handing yt-plex a copy lets it fetch videos “as you”, only for the videos that need it.
Use a secondary Google account if you can. YouTube occasionally flags accounts used by download tools, and the file grants access to that account for as long as it's valid, so treat it like a password. It's stored only on this server, readable only by yt-plex.
Cookies eventually expire or get rotated; when YouTube stops accepting them, the video's error says so and you can export a fresh file.
youtube.com_cookies.txt.Guest links let someone send you video files from their own computer, with no account. To share one, yt-plex has to be reachable from the internet at an address of its own (for example https://yt.example.com), and that address goes below. If yt-plex only runs on your home network, you need to give it one first. Common ways:
/u/ and /api/guest/.Change the login for this app. Passwords must be at least 8 characters; a longer passphrase is better, since this page may be reachable from the internet. Enter your current password to save any change.
Changing the password signs out every other device. You can also do that on its own:
Lost password?
Whoever manages the server can reset it: add a line YTP_RESET_PASSWORD=your-new-password to the .env file in yt-plex's data folder (create the file if it doesn't exist), restart yt-plex, log in with the new password, then delete that line.
The tools yt-plex runs behind the scenes. Nothing here needs attention unless something shows a warning.
Updates itself once a day while nothing is downloading, because YouTube regularly breaks old versions.
